Inside our dyno cell

Manchester Dyno Centre is a specialist ECU remapping and rolling road facility in Eccles, Manchester, Manchester. Our 6,000 sq ft workshop is built around a 4-Wheel-Drive Bapro dynamometer, and every remap we produce is developed and verified on that dyno before the car leaves.

We don't use off-the-shelf calibrations or generic base files. Every map starts with a baseline pull, is built to suit the specific vehicle and its condition, and is signed off against measured power figures at the end of the session.

The facility

The Bapro dynamometer handles 4WD vehicles as standard, giving us accurate power and torque readings across both axles simultaneously. This matters on cars where rolling road results are often approximated or extrapolated. On the Bapro, the numbers are real.

We use Kess3 and CMD hardware exclusively. Both are professional-grade units chosen for accuracy and broad vehicle compatibility. We do not use clone tooling. The interface between the software and the ECU has to be right, and that means using equipment built for the job.

Samuel Gunnell, lead tuner

Samuel Gunnell has spent more than ten years working in automotive software programming. His tuning files are sought after internationally, and the quality of his work has built a reputation that brings clients to Eccles, Manchester from well beyond the North West.

That reputation is built on method. Every calibration is treated as its own project. The time taken to develop a file is not cut to suit a booking schedule. If a map is not right, it goes back into the cell until it is.
