Speed limiter removal
Factory speed limiters keep your van locked to 62mph, fine for a manufacturer's fleet policy, less fine when you're sat in the middle lane of the motorway with a queue building behind you. Manchester Dyno Centre removes or raises manufacturer-fitted speed limiters on vans and commercial vehicles using software-only tuning, with no mechanical intervention and no damage to the vehicle.

What we work on
We carry out speed limiter removal and speed limiter delete work on a wide range of commercial vehicles, including:
If your van isn't on the list, get in touch. Lead tuner Samuel Gunnell has over 10 years of experience across a broad range of ECU platforms, and we can advise whether your vehicle is suitable.
How the process works
Speed limiter removal is a software modification made directly to the vehicle's ECU or ECM, the computer that controls engine behaviour. We access the ECU either via the OBD port under the dashboard or, where needed, on the bench. There is no cutting of wires, no hardware fitted, and no visible change to the vehicle.
The limiter value is located in the ECU map and either raised or removed entirely, depending on what suits your application. Most jobs are completed the same day.
A note on legality
Speed limiters are fitted to commercial vehicles for a reason. Removing or raising one is a modification that transfers responsibility for compliance with road traffic law entirely to the vehicle's owner and operator. Drivers remain bound by all posted speed limits and highway code requirements, a raised or removed limiter does not change what is legal on the road.
If you are a fleet operator, you should also check whether limiter removal affects your insurance cover or operator licence conditions before proceeding. Manchester Dyno Centre carries out the technical work; responsibility for how the vehicle is used on the road sits with you.
