Bootmod3 is one of the most capable tuning platforms available for modern BMW engines. At Manchester Dyno Centre, lead tuner Samuel Gunnell develops custom Bootmod3 maps calibrated to your specific car, not generic files pulled from the BM3 community library.
Whether you are running a B58-powered M140i, M240i, 340i, 440i, M2 Competition or Supra, or a B48-engined 118i, 120i, 320i or 420i, Samuel has the experience and platform knowledge to get the most from your engine safely and reliably.
How Bootmod3 works
Bootmod3 (BM3) is a licensed tuning platform that connects to your BMW through the ENET or OBD port. The licence is purchased directly from the BM3 website and tied to your VIN. Once you have your licence, you flash and manage maps through the BM3 app on your phone, no specialist hardware required on your end.
Your role is simple: buy the licence, plug in, and flash. Our role is to develop the map that goes inside it.
Samuel writes each file individually, accounting for your car's hardware spec, fuel quality, and intended use. When updates are needed, after a hardware change or fuel switch, for example, we push new map files remotely without you needing to visit us.
Available tune stages
Stage 1 is developed for cars running stock hardware. No supporting modifications are required, making it the most accessible starting point for B58 and B48 owners looking to unlock what the engine can already do.
Stage 2 builds on Stage 1 with a map calibrated for supporting hardware, typically an uprated intercooler, charge pipe, and high-flow intake. The additional airflow capacity allows Samuel to push fuelling and boost targets further without compromising safety margins.
Ethanol tunes are available for eligible B58 applications where the fuelling system supports it. We offer E30 and E50 blends, which take advantage of ethanol's superior octane rating and cooling properties to extract significantly more power than pump fuel allows. Off-the-shelf community maps are written for an average car on average fuel. Your car is not average. Sensor variance, wear, regional fuel quality, and hardware differences all affect how an engine responds to a given calibration.
