Vauxhall remapping
Vauxhall's performance and commercial vehicles cover a wide range of use cases, and remapping requirements vary sharply between them. The Astra VXR is a pure performance platform that rewards aggressive tuning. The Vivaro is a workhorse where economy and drivability matter more than headline power figures. Both types of remap are carried out at Manchester Dyno Centre by Samuel Gunnell, with every tune verified on our 4-wheel-drive Bapro dynamometer.
Astra VXR
The Astra VXR is the most rewarding Vauxhall platform we work with. The 2.0T petrol engine has a strong base to build from, and Stage 1 tuning brings a noticeable improvement in power and torque without any hardware modifications. The gains are felt across the rev range, but the most significant difference comes in the mid-range where the VXR picks up harder and pulls longer than it does in standard form.
For owners who want more, Stage 2 work opens up additional headroom once supporting hardware is in place. A free-flowing intake, sports catalyst, and upgraded intercooler are the usual starting points. Samuel will map the car to the hardware fitted, so the tune always reflects what the engine is actually working with rather than a generic file loaded off a laptop.

Astra 1.4T
The Astra 1.4 Turbo is one of the more accessible remapping candidates in the Vauxhall range. It is not a performance car, but the 1.4T engine responds to remapping in a way that changes how the car feels to drive day to day. Throttle response sharpens up, the engine pulls more willingly from low revs, and the flat spot that often catches drivers out between 1,500 and 2,500 rpm largely disappears. For owners who want a noticeable improvement without a large outlay, it is a good starting point.
The 1.6T CDTi diesel in the Astra J and K is also a regular remap for us, and responds particularly well to torque increases on Stage 1.
Vivaro van remapping
The Vivaro is one of the most common vans we see for remapping, and the requirements split neatly into two types.
Economy remap. Tradespeople covering high mileage are the main audience here. An economy remap adjusts fuelling and boost to favour efficiency over outright performance. On a diesel Vivaro used for regular motorway work, the fuel saving over a year can be significant depending on mileage and driving style.
Speed limiter removal. Factory speed limiters on the Vivaro are set at 70 mph or lower. For operators working across motorway routes, this can make the van feel slow and frustrating at a cruise. We can remove or adjust the speed limiter to suit your use case.
Other Vauxhall models
Insignia 2.0 CDTi. The Insignia diesel is well-suited to Stage 1 remapping. The 2.0 CDTi engine produces good results from a torque remap, making the car feel more capable on longer runs and less reliant on downshifting on A-road overtakes.
Corsa VXR. A compact performance car with a 1.6T engine. The Corsa VXR responds to Stage 1 tuning, and the improvement in throttle feel and in-gear pull is more noticeable than the headline power figures suggest.
