Stage 1 calibration is available on both the LS3 and the supercharged LSA, developed and verified on the dyno rather than applied as a generic file. Stage 2 on the LSA is available once supporting hardware, typically an upgraded pulley and intercooler arrangement, is fitted. A standalone rolling road session is worth booking on its own for owners who want a documented baseline figure. We do not offer speed limiter removal, launch control coding or a flame tune on the VXR8, none apply to this platform in the way this workshop offers them elsewhere.
Why VXR8 owners remap
Two kinds of VXR8 owner come through Eccles. The first owns the naturally aspirated LS3 car and wants a calibration that sharpens throttle response and refines the delivery through the rev range, a genuine improvement on an engine that already has real displacement working in its favour. The second owns the supercharged LSA in the GTS and wants to build on an already serious power figure, typically with supporting hardware in mind for a proper Stage 2 build.
Both owners are buying into a platform that will not be repeated. There is real enthusiast weight behind these cars, and the calibration work reflects that, no generic file, no shortcuts, a map developed on your specific engine.
Engine and stage options
The VXR8 was sold in the UK from 2007 to 2017. Earlier cars (2007 to 2013) ran the LS3 6.2-litre naturally aspirated V8, producing 425 bhp; from 2013, the GTS switched to the LSA supercharged 6.2-litre V8, producing 576 bhp. Both drive through the rear wheels only. Stage 1 on the LS3 refines timing and fuelling for a genuine, honestly framed improvement given the engine's naturally aspirated nature. Stage 1 on the supercharged LSA has more headroom to work with, and Stage 2 opens up further once supporting hardware is fitted. before publishing specific numbers for either engine.

A VXR8 booked in for a remap starts with a baseline pull on the 4WD Bapro dyno, so we know exactly what your car is producing before anything changes. Samuel Gunnell reads the ECU via Kess3 or CMD bench tooling in person, there is no remote flashing platform for Vauxhall on this site, and develops the calibration from that baseline data rather than a file written for a different engine variant. Verification pulls on the same rollers confirm the result before you leave.
