We do it differently. Every remap produced at Manchester Dyno Centre is written and calibrated on our 4-wheel-drive Bapro dynamometer. We establish a baseline power figure before we touch the ECU, apply the map, run the car again, and then refine until the result is right. You leave knowing exactly what your engine is producing, measured, logged, and verified.

Why dyno remapping is a different thing entirely

A file-swap remap is a guess. It is based on what worked on another car of the same make and model, but your car is not that car. It has its own mileage, its own wear, its own history. Applying a generic file without measuring the outcome is fine when fine is good enough.

When you want a dyno tune that is actually calibrated to your engine, the dyno is not optional, it is the method. The rolling road tells us what the engine is doing in real time. We can see where power is being left on the table, where fuelling needs correction, and whether the result matches the target. Every adjustment is made against measured data, not assumption.

4WD dyno capability

Most tuning shops run a two-wheel-drive rolling road. That means four-wheel-drive vehicles, Audi Quattro models, Golf R, BMW xDrive, Mercedes 4MATIC, cannot be tested properly. The front axle has nowhere to go, so the car cannot be run at load, and meaningful data cannot be collected.

Our Bapro dynamometer is a full 4WD unit. Both axles are driven simultaneously, so every vehicle in our bay, regardless of drivetrain, can be tested under real operating conditions. If you drive a four-wheel-drive car, this matters.
