What's included in a rolling road session

When you book a power run at Manchester Dyno Centre, here's what happens. Your car is strapped securely to the dyno, brought up to operating temperature, and driven through a series of runs at full load. We measure power and torque at the wheels, produce a graph showing your peak bhp and torque figures, and flag anything that looks unusual during the pull.

You leave with a dyno graph showing exactly what your car is doing. If something doesn't look right during the run, we'll tell you.

Our 4WD Bapro dynamometer

Not every dyno facility can run a 4WD car. Ours can. Our Bapro dynamometer handles front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive, and four-wheel drive vehicles without needing to disable the drivetrain or risk damage to differentials and transfer boxes. If you've been turned away elsewhere because of your drivetrain, give us a call.

Our unit is based in a 6,000 sq ft facility on James Nasmyth Way, Eccles in Eccles, easily accessible from Manchester city centre and the wider North West.

What is a rolling road test?
A rolling road test, also called a dyno run or power run, measures the power and torque your car produces at the driven wheels. The car is secured on a set of rollers, driven under full load, and the dynamometer records the output throughout the rev range. You receive a printed graph showing peak bhp and torque, along with the full curve across the power band.
How long does a power run take?
A standard power run typically takes between 30 and 60 minutes, depending on the vehicle and how many runs are carried out. We allow time to strap the car down correctly, bring it up to temperature, and complete the pulls safely. Group bookings and back-to-back sessions are available if you need to bring multiple cars on the same day.
What does a power run cost?

Can you run a 4WD car on your dyno?
Yes. Our Bapro dynamometer is a full 4-Wheel-Drive unit, which means we can test front-wheel-drive, rear-wheel-drive, and four-wheel-drive vehicles without any drivetrain compromise. Many dyno facilities in the region cannot run AWD cars properly. We can.
