Van and commercial remapping

Your van works for a living, and the factory map was written to cover every market, every fuel grade and every emissions target worldwide. That compromise leaves a lot on the table. At Manchester Dyno Centre we rewrite the map for the way you actually use the vehicle, whether that means stretching every mile out of a full fuel tank or putting more torque through the drivetrain when you need it most.

Every remap is developed and verified on our 4-Wheel-Drive Bapro dynamometer, so you leave with figures we can stand behind, not numbers pulled from a brochure.

Economy remapping for vans

Diesel vans are expensive to run. An economy remap targets fuel consumption directly, adjusting fuelling curves, injection timing and boost pressure to get more work out of every litre. In real-world terms that means fewer fill-ups per week, less throttle needed to maintain motorway speeds, and a noticeable reduction in turbo lag when the van is fully loaded.

For tradespeople doing high mileage, the savings accumulate fast. For fleet operators running multiple vehicles, they add up even faster.

Performance remapping for vans

Carrying tools, materials or a full trailer puts real strain on a standard-mapped diesel. A performance remap increases torque output across the rev range, which translates directly to better pulling power when laden, more confidence when overtaking on A-roads, and easier hill work with a heavy load behind you.

This is not about turning a Transit into a sports car. It is about making the van feel capable rather than strained when you are asking the most of it.

If your vehicle is not on this list, get in touch, if it has a diesel ECU, we can almost certainly work with it.

Also available: speed limiter removal

If your van has a factory speed limiter fitted, we can also remove or adjust it as part of the same session. See our speed limiter removal page for details.

Frequently asked questions

Can you remap diesel vans?
Yes. Diesel vans respond very well to remapping because factory maps are heavily compromised to meet broad emissions targets and to protect engines running on lower-quality fuel sold in some markets. Rewriting the map for UK diesel and real-world use typically delivers meaningful gains in both fuel economy and torque.
What van remapping gains can I expect?
Gains depend on the engine, the map we start from and whether you choose an economy or performance tune. Most diesel vans see a noticeable improvement in throttle response and reduced turbo lag regardless of which route you take. Economy tunes typically improve fuel consumption; performance tunes prioritise torque output. We verify every result on the Bapro dyno, so we can show you the before-and-after figures on your specific vehicle.
Does van remapping affect insurance?
It can. You are obliged to tell your insurer about any modification to your vehicle, including an ECU remap. Some insurers treat it as a standard modification and adjust your premium accordingly; others are more flexible. We recommend checking with your insurer before booking if this is a concern.
Can you do fleet vans at the same time?
Yes. If you are running multiple vans and want them done in the same session or across consecutive days, speak to us ahead of time and we will arrange the scheduling. Fleet work is something we do regularly, and we can discuss a practical turnaround that keeps your vehicles off the road for as little time as possible.
