A3, 1.4 TFSI, 2.0 TFSI, 2.0 TDI

The A3 is one of the most remapped vehicles in the UK, and for good reason. The 2.0 TFSI petrol and 2.0 TDI diesel both have factory headroom that a well-developed remap unlocks immediately. The 1.4 TFSI, including cylinder-on-demand variants, is also tunable at stage 1. If you are looking at A3 modifications, ECU remapping is the single most effective upgrade you can make before touching any hardware.

S3, 8V, 8Y

The S3 runs the EA888 engine family, a 2.0 TFSI with a more aggressive factory calibration than the standard A3, but still conservative by tuning standards. A stage 1 remap on the S3 produces a substantial step in power and torque response, and the platform lends itself naturally to stage 2 when hardware upgrades are in place. Both the 8V and 8Y generations are covered.

RS3, 8V, 8Y

The RS3 runs the 2.5 TFSI five-cylinder, a highly capable engine with strong tuning potential even from a factory state that is already performance-oriented. Stage 1 and stage 2 options are available depending on your build and your objectives.

TT and TTS

The EA888-based TT and TTS respond to the same stage 1 and stage 2 approach as the S3. The TTS in particular has significant headroom from stock.

A4, A6 and Q5 TDI

The diesel range, spanning the 2.0 TDI and 3.0 TDI fitted to the A4, A6 and Q5, is an excellent candidate for both performance and economy remapping. TDI engines often carry more from the factory than the standard map unlocks, and a properly developed calibration makes a tangible difference to mid-range torque, fuel consumption and overall refinement.

Stage 1 and Stage 2 remapping for Audis

Stage 1 is a software-only modification. No hardware changes are required. Samuel Gunnell adjusts the ECU parameters, boost pressure, fuelling, ignition timing and torque limiters, within the safe operating envelope of the standard hardware. For most Audi owners, stage 1 is the starting point and often the only modification they need.

Stage 2 is developed for cars already running hardware upgrades such as a performance exhaust, upgraded intercooler or induction kit. The map is built around the modified specification rather than being an off-the-shelf file. If you are running aftermarket hardware and your current tune was not developed for it, contact us, a map developed for a standard car will not extract the full benefit of modified components.

DSG and S-Tronic remapping

Many Audi models come with the S-Tronic dual-clutch gearbox, Audi's variant of the DSG unit. The gearbox ECU can be remapped alongside the engine, adjusting shift points, torque limiters and launch behaviour to suit the increased power output. If you are remapping the engine, it is worth considering the gearbox at the same time. A mismatched combination, modified engine, factory gearbox map, can leave performance on the table and put the transmission under unnecessary stress.

Quattro and 4WD dyno testing

Quattro four-wheel-drive Audis can be fully tested on our Bapro dynamometer without any drivetrain compromise. Most rolling road facilities cannot run a Quattro-equipped car properly, which means they either estimate power figures or require the car to be de-coupled, neither of which gives you accurate data. Our 4WD dyno solves that problem. Every Quattro remap we carry out is verified against real, measured power and torque figures.

Economy remapping for Audi TDI

If your priority is fuel efficiency rather than outright performance, our economy remap calibration is developed for exactly that. TDI-equipped Audis, particularly higher-mileage A4, A6 and Q5 models, can see a meaningful reduction in fuel consumption through calibration adjustments that improve injection efficiency and torque delivery at lower revs. The car does the same work with less fuel. Which Audi models do you tune?
We tune a broad range of Audi petrol and diesel models, including the A3 (1.4 TFSI, 2.0 TFSI, 2.0 TDI), S3 (8V and 8Y), RS3 (8V and 8Y), TT and TTS, A4, A6 and Q5 TDI. Can you remap an Audi Quattro?
Yes. Our 4-wheel-drive Bapro dynamometer is built to test all-wheel-drive vehicles accurately. Quattro-equipped Audis, including the S3, RS3, Q5 and A4 Quattro, can be fully dyno-tested before and after remapping without uncoupling the drivetrain. This gives you verified power and torque figures, not estimates, and it means we can see exactly how the engine is responding as the calibration is developed.
Do you do DSG remapping on Audis?
Yes. The S-Tronic dual-clutch gearbox fitted to many Audi models can be remapped alongside the engine. The gearbox ECU controls shift points, torque limiters and launch behaviour, all of which benefit from being recalibrated to match an upgraded engine map. We recommend considering the gearbox alongside any engine remap, particularly on S3 and RS3 models where the increased torque output warrants an updated transmission calibration.
What are the gains on an Audi S3?
The S3 runs the EA888 2.0 TFSI, which responds very well to remapping. A stage 1 remap on an 8V S3 typically delivers gains in the region of 40 to 60bhp and 80 to 100Nm of torque, depending on the specific variant and year. The 8Y S3 (310bhp stock) has slightly less headroom at stage 1 but still gains meaningfully. Stage 2, with an upgraded intercooler and exhaust in place, pushes figures further. We will give you an honest estimate for your specific car before any work begins.
