Customers we see from Derbyshire

Derbyshire drivers are usually already comfortable behind the wheel before they get to us. Buxton, Whaley Bridge, New Mills and Glossop sit on some of the best driving roads in the North West, the Snake Pass among them, and the cars that come through from the High Peak reflect that: hot hatches, BMWs, the odd Subaru that's clearly been used the way it was built to be used. Manchester Dyno Centre is a fixed workshop in Eccles, not a van that meets you at a layby. The car comes to us, goes on the 4WD Bapro dyno, and the calibration is built and checked against a real measured figure rather than guessed at from a spec sheet. From most of Derbyshire's western edge that's a 35 to 50 minute drive, which for a car you already take the long way home in isn't much to ask.

Towns customers travel from

Buxton, Whaley Bridge, New Mills and Glossop. Glossop is the shortest run, typically 35 to 40 minutes through Mottram. New Mills and Whaley Bridge sit around 40 to 45 minutes away. Buxton is the furthest of the four, usually 45 to 50 minutes depending on which route you take across the Peak.

About the service

A session at Eccles runs the same way for every car regardless of postcode: baseline pull on the 4WD Bapro, ECU read, calibration built or adjusted by Samuel Gunnell, verification runs on the same rollers before you leave. Samuel has been tuning professionally for more than 10 years and his work is recognised well beyond this region. The dyno matters more than most people realise if you're running an AWD platform, quattro, xDrive, Symmetrical AWD or otherwise, because a standard two-roller rig can only drive one axle and ends up either limiting the car or working from a run that doesn't reflect how it actually performs on the road. Stage 1, Stage 2, economy remaps, gearbox and DSG remapping, standalone rolling road sessions, launch control, speed limiter removal and flame tunes are all available at Eccles. Nothing is priced online. Every quote is built around the car in front of us, so get in touch and we'll talk you through what your car would need.

Frequently asked questions

Do Derbyshire drivers actually make this drive?
Regularly, yes. Buxton, Glossop and the High Peak have a strong base of drivers who already treat their cars properly on the road, and a 35 to 50 minute run to a facility with a genuine 4WD dyno is a small trade for a map that's actually been measured rather than assumed.
Is Manchester Dyno Centre mobile?
No. We operate from one fixed facility in Eccles, Manchester. The dyno itself is the reason: it can't travel, and a mobile remap can't verify what it's done the way a dyno session can.
What should I expect on the day?
Your car goes straight onto the rollers for a baseline pull, so we've got a real number to work from before anything changes. Samuel reads the ECU, builds or refines the calibration, and runs verification pulls until the figures back up the work. You leave knowing exactly what the car is now making, not what it's supposed to make.
Can you tune cars that have already been modified?
Yes. Tell us what's fitted when you enquire, whether that's an intercooler, intake or exhaust for a Stage 2 build, and we'll calibrate around the hardware that's actually on the car rather than a generic assumption.
Do you publish prices for Derbyshire customers?
No. Every job is quoted individually, based on the car and the work involved. Call 0161 302 5117 and we'll give you a proper figure for your vehicle.
