Generic remapping services load a calibration built for a population of cars like yours over an OBD port. It is an estimate, useful as a starting point, but not a measurement of your engine on your day. At Manchester Dyno Centre, the measurement is the product. Frequently asked questions

What power gains can I expect from a Stage 1 remap?
It depends on the platform and the engine. A turbocharged BMW B58 responds differently from a naturally aspirated petrol; a diesel with significant headroom in the factory calibration responds differently again. The honest answer is that the dyno shows the actual figure for your engine on the day, not a percentage taken from a manufacturer's specification or a model-wide average figure.
Do you provide before-and-after power figures?
Yes. A dyno run is part of every session, not an optional extra, not a paid upgrade. The baseline run is completed before any calibration work, and the final run is documented after the map is confirmed. You leave with both sets of figures and the data behind them.
Can I watch the dyno session?
Yes. Customers are welcome to be present at the Eccles facility during the session. Samuel will be monitoring the data throughout each run, but you can see the car on the rollers and observe the readings being taken in real time.
Does a remap affect fuel consumption?
A Stage 1 remap often improves light-throttle efficiency, factory calibrations tend to be conservative, and a well-developed map can recover some of that. An economy remap is a different scope of work: calibrated specifically for fuel efficiency across typical driving cycles, not a performance map adjusted downward. If reducing fuel cost is the primary goal, it is worth discussing which approach suits your usage pattern when you call.
