Honda Civic remap
The 1.5-litre VTEC Turbo in the current Civic is a genuinely capable small engine, and the factory calibration has more in it than the standard map lets through. Stage 1 mapping is developed and verified at our Eccles facility on the 4WD Bapro dyno. Call 0161 302 5117.
Honda Civic power figures
| Stage | BHP | Torque | Notes | |–-|–-|–-|–-| | Stock | 180 to 182 bhp | 240 Nm | L15B7 / L15C 1.5 turbo, FWD | | Stage 1 | | | Software only, no hardware changes |
Honda's turbocharged VTEC Turbo engines carry a strong reputation for durability, and that reputation comes partly from a factory calibration that's set well within what the hardware can handle. The figures above aren't an average pulled from an owners' forum. They're what your specific Civic produces on our 4WD Bapro dynamometer, measured on a baseline pull and confirmed on a verification pull once the new calibration is applied.
What the gain feels like
The standard Civic 1.5 can feel like it's holding something back low in the rev range, with the turbo needing a moment to build boost before the car properly gets going. A Stage 1 remap addresses that directly: throttle response sharpens and the mid-range torque that does most of the work in daily driving becomes available sooner. The result is a Civic that feels more alert pulling out of junctions and overtaking on A-roads, without changing how the car behaves at a cruise.
It's a software-only change. No hardware modifications are needed for Stage 1, so the car stays mechanically exactly as Honda built it.
Every service available on the Civic
Stage 1 is the most requested service on this platform, but it isn't the only one. Stage 2 is available where supporting hardware, such as an upgraded intercooler, is fitted, and we'll advise whether it's worth it for your specific car. An economy-focused remap is available for owners who cover higher mileage and want lower fuel costs rather than more power. Standalone rolling road sessions are available for a baseline pull, a post-modification check, or simply to see real figures on paper.
Dyno proof for this platform
The Civic is front-wheel drive, which doesn't make dyno verification any less necessary. A four-roller, load-simulated pull produces a documented, repeatable figure rather than a road estimate stitched together from a phone app on a straight stretch of dual carriageway. The same Bapro rig used for AWD performance cars is set up for the Civic's session, loading the front axle the way the road does on the baseline pull and the verification pull that follows.
That repeatability is what makes the number trustworthy. A figure measured twice under the same conditions carries more weight than one guessed at once.
