Seat Cupra remap
The Cupra range sits on Volkswagen Group's MQB and MLB platforms, and that VAG architecture is one of the most thoroughly understood in the remapping industry. At Manchester Dyno Centre we develop custom calibrations for Cupra Leon, Formentor and Ateca models on our 4WD Bapro dynamometer at Eccles, Manchester, Manchester. Every map is verified on the dyno before the car leaves.
Cupra Leon
The Cupra Leon uses Volkswagen Group's EA888 Evo 2.0 TSI in 300bhp specification. It is a strong platform from the factory and a well-known quantity for remapping. At Stage 1, with no hardware changes required, a dyno-developed calibration brings output to approximately 370bhp. Torque gains in the mid-range are significant, and the responsiveness of the engine changes noticeably from the moment the throttle opens.
The Cupra Leon eHybrid is also covered. The plug-in hybrid powertrain adds a layer of complexity to the calibration process, but it is a system we work with. Contact us to discuss your specific variant.
For Leon models with DSG, we can address the transmission at the same session. Recalibrating the DSG alongside the engine brings the whole powertrain into alignment, improving shift speed, torque management and the overall response of the system.
Cupra Formentor
The Formentor is available in two versions that are relevant to performance remapping, and they are very different propositions.
The 2.0 TSI 310bhp variant is closely related to the Cupra Leon and follows a similar calibration profile. Stage 1 on the dyno typically returns around 380bhp. DSG recalibration is available alongside.
The Formentor VZ5 is a different car altogether. It runs Audi's 2.5 TFSI five-cylinder engine producing 390bhp from the factory. This is the same engine found in the RS3 and TTRS, and it responds exceptionally well to mapping. Stage 1 brings output to approximately 460bhp. The five-cylinder character of the 2.5 TFSI, already distinctive at 390bhp, sharpens further with a properly developed calibration.
Formentor 4Drive models use Volkswagen Group's all-wheel-drive system. Running these on a single-axle dyno would produce inaccurate results and place the drivetrain under uneven load. The 4WD Bapro allows us to run the car as it is designed to operate.
Cupra Ateca
The Cupra Ateca uses the same 2.0 TSI producing 300bhp and carries 4Drive all-wheel drive as standard. The calibration approach mirrors the Leon and Formentor 2.0 TSI, with the 4WD dyno essential for accurate measurement and safe development. Stage 1 gains are consistent with the rest of the range.
DSG and automatic gearbox remapping
Across the Cupra range, DSG gearbox remapping is a complementary step that makes a tangible difference to how the car drives. The factory TCU calibration prioritises smoothness and comfort across a wide range of driving styles. A remapped transmission is faster in its shifts, more responsive to driver input and better matched to the increased engine output. We carry out DSG remaps at the same session where possible.
The process at Manchester Dyno Centre
Every Cupra that comes through the workshop receives a baseline run before we start. Samuel Gunnell, with over a decade of professional remapping experience, develops the calibration from that baseline. We do not apply generic files. We verify the final result on the Bapro before the session ends. You leave with the dyno trace and a map that has been confirmed on your specific car.
We are based at Eccles, Manchester, Manchester M30 0SF. We do not operate mobile remapping. Call us on 0161 302 5117 to discuss your Cupra.
