The session, how it works

Here is what a session at Manchester Dyno Centre looks like in practice. Your car arrives at HNA Facilities on James Nasmyth Way, Eccles, Manchester. It goes onto the 4-Wheel-Drive Bapro dynamometer. Samuel Gunnell runs a baseline power pass to establish exactly where the car sits before any work begins. That number is logged.

He reads the ECU using Kess3 or CMD hardware, depending on the platform and what the job requires. He builds or modifies the calibration, then puts the car back on the rollers. Fuelling, boost pressure, ignition timing and knock events are monitored live throughout every run. The data is visible in real time. If the numbers indicate further refinement is needed, the calibration is adjusted and the car runs again.

The session ends when the data confirms the map is correct for your car, not when an arbitrary time limit is reached. You leave with documented before-and-after power figures. Not an estimate, not a projection, a measured output from your engine, on those rollers, on that day.

The facility

HNA Facilities, Plot Zero, James Nasmyth Way, Eccles, Manchester M30 0SF. The workshop is 6,000 sq ft. The 4WD Bapro dynamometer is in-house and in use on every job. This is not a shared dyno accessed from a third-party site. Full 4WD capability is not standard at most UK remapping facilities, the majority of rolling roads are 2WD only and cannot load an all-wheel-drive car under representative conditions.

All read/write work is carried out with Kess3 and CMD hardware. Kess3 covers OBD-port access for supported platforms. CMD allows direct read/write with the ECU physically removed from the vehicle, extending coverage to platforms that are not accessible via OBD. On-site parking. Fixed facility only, no mobile visits are offered.

Remote platform tuning: Bootmod3 and MHD for supported BMW and Mini platforms. Stage 2 work on any platform requires supporting hardware to be fitted before the calibration session.

A 2WD dyno cannot produce a representative baseline on an AWD car, which undermines the calibration process. The 4WD Bapro eliminates that limitation.
