Mini Countryman JCW remap
300 to 306 bhp from the factory, developed further by a Stage 1 calibration built and verified on our 4WD Bapro dyno at Eccles. B48 2.0-litre turbo, ALL4 all-wheel drive standard. Call 0161 302 5117 to discuss your Countryman JCW.
Mini Countryman JCW power figures
| Stage | BHP | Torque | Notes | |–-|–-|–-|–-| | Stock | 300 to 306 bhp | 400 Nm | B48 2.0 turbo, ALL4 AWD | | Stage 1 | | | Software only, no hardware changes |
The Countryman JCW is the largest application of the B48 in Mini's range, and it carries the same turbocharged four-cylinder found in the Clubman JCW and the smaller Mini Cooper S, tuned to a higher state in this application. The figures above are not lifted from a forum thread. They are what your specific car produces on our 4WD Bapro dynamometer, measured through all four wheels the way ALL4 actually delivers drive, not estimated from a two-roller pull with an axle disconnected.
What the gain feels like
The B48 in JCW specification already has a strong mid-range from the factory, and a properly developed Stage 1 map sharpens that further rather than simply chasing a peak number. Throttle response improves noticeably from low revs, the turbo spools with less lag, and the Countryman pulls harder out of a slow corner in third gear where the factory calibration is at its most conservative. This is a car most owners drive daily, so the gain is built to be usable across the rev range, not a number that only shows up at the top end.
Beyond the Stage 1 map
Stage 1 software is where most Countryman JCW owners stop, but it is not the only work available. Where the car runs the automatic transmission, we recalibrate the gearbox alongside the engine to sharpen shift speed and bring torque management in line with the new output. Launch control coding is available on cars specified with it from the factory. A standalone rolling road session, without any remap attached, is available for owners who simply want a verified figure. Economy remapping is worth discussing if smoother, more efficient everyday driving matters more than outright power. Stage 2 is available where the supporting hardware is fitted, call to talk through what your car currently has.
Dyno proof for this platform
ALL4 sends drive predominantly to the front axle under normal conditions, with the rear engaging through an electro-hydraulic clutch pack when the system detects slip or load. A two-roller dyno cannot load that split accurately, it either isolates one axle or forces the car into a test mode it was never built to run in. Our 4WD Bapro dynamometer drives all four wheels independently, replicating how the Countryman JCW actually sends power to the road, so the figures in the table above are measured, not modelled.
