Mini JCW remap
Daily runabout or weekend hot hatch, the JCW hatch gets the same calibration approach either way. B48 2.0-litre turbo, 228 to 231 bhp from the factory. Call 0161 302 5117 to talk through your JCW.
Every service available on the JCW hatch
A Stage 1 calibration, developed from your car's own baseline pull, is where most JCW hatch owners start, and for many it is also where they stop. Stage 2 is available where supporting hardware such as an upgraded intake and downpipe is fitted. A standalone rolling road session, without any remap attached, suits owners who simply want a verified figure on record. Economy remapping is worth a conversation if smoother, more efficient everyday driving matters more than outright power. Launch control coding is available on cars specified with it from the factory. All of this happens at the same Eccles facility, on the same 4WD Bapro dyno used for the rest of the JCW range.
Why JCW hatch owners remap
Two kinds of JCW hatch come through Eccles. The first belongs to an owner who drives it daily and wants the car to feel sharper on the commute, more urgent low down where the factory calibration is at its most cautious, without changing anything about how the car looks or sounds. The second belongs to an owner who takes the car to track days or sprint events and wants a calibration that holds up under sustained load, not just a number that looks good on a single dyno pull.
Both are solved with the same starting point. A Stage 1 map developed on the dyno improves throttle response and mid-range pull for the daily driver, and gives the track day owner a verified baseline to build from if hardware changes come later. Neither owner needs to choose between the two outcomes, the calibration serves both.
Engine and stage options
The JCW hatch runs the same B48 2.0-litre turbo found across Mini's performance range, in front-wheel-drive form rather than the ALL4 all-wheel-drive fitted to the Clubman JCW and Countryman JCW. Stock output sits at 228 to 231 bhp. Stage 1 is a software-only calibration requiring no hardware changes; before publishing a specific number. Stage 2 asks more of supporting hardware, typically an upgraded intercooler and downpipe, to sustain higher boost safely, and we will tell you honestly whether your car's current setup supports it.
A visit to Eccles
A JCW hatch booked in for Stage 1 starts with a baseline pull on the 4WD Bapro, giving us a genuine reference point for your specific car rather than a factory figure. From there Samuel Gunnell develops the calibration around your car's own fuelling, boost and timing data, reading the ECU via Kess3 or CMD bench tooling, since there is no remote flashing platform for the B48 on this site outside of BMW's own remote tools, which do not apply to Mini's version of the engine. Once the map is applied, the car goes back on the rollers for verification pulls on the same equipment as the baseline, so you leave with a documented before-and-after rather than a promise.
