The CB18 turbo

The current-generation Levorg, officially sold new in the UK, runs Subaru's CB18 1.8-litre turbocharged flat-four (177 bhp, 300 Nm), a different, smaller-capacity unit to the naturally aspirated FA24 found in the BRZ, and producing genuinely different remap headroom as a result. Symmetrical AWD is standard across the range, sending drive to all four wheels continuously rather than engaging on demand.

Where a naturally aspirated FA24 offers only refinement, the turbocharged CB18 in the Levorg has real boost and fuelling headroom above the conservative factory calibration, the kind of gain a Stage 1 map on this workshop's dyno is built to find. The factory tune is set to run cleanly across a wide range of conditions and fuel qualities, which is exactly what leaves room to work with once we know your specific car's baseline.

Why Levorg remapping needs a specialist

An estate built around a turbocharged flat-four and permanent all-wheel drive is not a car you calibrate with a generic file. Samuel Gunnell develops every Levorg calibration from a baseline pull specific to that car, reading the ECU via Kess3 or CMD bench tooling at Eccles. This is in-person work only, there is no remote flashing platform for Subaru on this site. A file mismapped for a different market's fuel specification is a real risk on a turbocharged engine running this much boost, and getting the fuelling and timing wrong is not a mistake worth risking on a car many owners use as a genuine daily driver.

Every service available on the Levorg

Stage 1 calibration is the main event on the turbocharged CB18, developed and verified on the dyno rather than estimated. Stage 2 is available where supporting hardware is fitted, and we will advise honestly on whether your car's setup justifies it. A standalone rolling road session, without any remap attached, suits owners who want a documented figure before committing further. Economy remapping is worth a conversation for owners covering high motorway mileage in the Levorg. Where the automatic transmission is fitted, ask us about recalibration options at the same session.

Gearbox

Levorg models fitted with Subaru's automatic transmission can have the gearbox assessed alongside the engine calibration. The scope of what can be recalibrated depends on the specific transmission and model year fitted to your car, so contact us with your exact specification and we will confirm what applies before you book.

Frequently asked questions

Is Stage 2 available on the CB18 turbo?
Yes, where the supporting hardware is fitted. We assess your specific Levorg and advise honestly on whether Stage 2 is worth pursuing over Stage 1.
Do you remap the gearbox alongside the engine?
Where the automatic transmission's specification supports it, we can assess recalibration options at the same session. Contact us with your exact model year and we will confirm what is possible.
How long does a Levorg remap take?
A typical Stage 1 session, including baseline pull, mapping and verification runs, takes around half a day at Eccles. We will confirm a realistic timeframe when you book.
Will the remap affect Symmetrical AWD or the driving modes?
A properly developed calibration is built to work with the car's existing all-wheel-drive system and driving modes. We test across the relevant modes during verification to confirm nothing behaves unexpectedly.
Do you cover all Levorg specifications?
Yes. The current CB18 turbo Levorg is officially sold new in the UK, but tell us your exact model year and trim and we will confirm what applies for your specific car. See the wider Subaru range we cover.
