Toyota Hilux remap
Working truck or weekend tow vehicle, the Hilux earns its reputation through what it can pull and how far it can pull it on a tank. A remap built around your use case, not a generic diesel file. Call 0161 302 5117 to talk through your Hilux.
Every service available on the Hilux
Stage 1 calibration on the 1GD-FTV improves torque delivery and throttle response without any hardware changes, and is the core service on this platform. An economy remap is the other main option, tuning fuelling and boost to favour efficiency for owners covering high mileage. Speed limiter removal suits operators who find the factory limit restrictive on longer motorway routes. We do not offer a flame tune or launch control coding on the Hilux, neither applies to a diesel working truck.
Why Hilux owners remap
Two kinds of Hilux owner come through Eccles. The first runs the truck for work, hauling tools, materials or trailers day in and day out, and wants stronger low-down torque so the truck pulls cleanly under load without labouring, plus a speed limiter removed for motorway-heavy routes. The second owns the Hilux privately, often for towing a caravan or boat, and wants the same improved pulling power alongside better economy on the miles when the truck is running empty.
Both are solved on the same visit. A Stage 1 torque remap and an economy-focused calibration are not mutually exclusive on the 1GD-FTV, and which one leads depends on how you actually use the truck rather than a fixed package.
Engine and stage options
The Hilux runs Toyota's 1GD-FTV 2.8-litre D-4D diesel, producing 148 bhp up to the 2020 facelift and 201 to 204 bhp from the 2020 Euro 6 update onward, driving through a permanent or selectable 4x4 system depending on trim. Stage 1 remapping works within the standard turbocharger and injection hardware, improving torque delivery across the working rev range where the truck actually operates under load. before publishing a specific figure. There is no Stage 2 pathway offered on the Hilux without discussing supporting hardware first, and for most working trucks the Stage 1 torque improvement is the change that matters.
A visit to Eccles
A Hilux booked in for a Stage 1 or economy remap starts with a baseline pull on the 4WD Bapro dyno, so we know exactly what your truck is producing before anything changes. Samuel Gunnell reads the ECU via Kess3 or CMD bench tooling in person, then develops the calibration around how you actually use the truck, working, towing or a mix of both. Verification pulls on the same rollers confirm the result. If speed limiter removal is part of the visit, that work happens alongside the main calibration in the same session.
