Why the 4WD dyno matters for the Supra
The Supra sends drive to the road through the rear wheels alone, so it does not need an all-wheel-drive system loaded properly the way an xDrive or GR-Four car does. What it does need is a rig that can hold the car under sustained load and produce a repeatable figure rather than a road estimate, and that is exactly what a four-roller, load-simulated pull gives you. Our 4WD Bapro dynamometer is not reserved for AWD cars. It is available for the Supra's session in exactly the same form, and the baseline pull, the calibration and the verification runs all happen under conditions that reflect real, sustained driving rather than a single short blast on the road.
How we map the Supra
A Supra remap starts with a baseline pull to establish exactly what your car is producing from the factory before anything changes. The B58 shares its architecture with BMW's straight-six platform, and Samuel Gunnell reads and develops the ECU using Bootmod3 or MHD, the two remote tuning platforms that genuinely apply to this engine. The calibration is built from your car's own baseline data, then applied and run back-to-back on the same rollers to verify the result against the initial pull.
Beyond the Stage 1 map developed on the dyno
Stage 1 is the primary calibration on the Supra's B58, developed and verified on the dyno. Stage 2 is available where supporting hardware, typically an upgraded intercooler and downpipe, is fitted first. A standalone rolling road session is available without a remap attached, useful for a documented baseline before track use. Launch control coding is available where the car is specified with it. We do not offer speed limiter removal or a flame tune on the Supra, neither applies to this platform.
Stage 1 vs Stage 2
Stage 1 on the B58-engined Supra is software only, working within the standard turbocharger, intercooler and exhaust hardware to unlock the factory's conservative margin. Stage 2 requires supporting hardware, an upgraded intercooler and downpipe are the usual starting points, before a more aggressive calibration is developed to suit the increased airflow. We will advise on whether Stage 2 makes sense for your car and how you use it, and we will not push it where Stage 1 already delivers what you are after. The entry-level 2.0-litre turbo Supra is a different engine to the B58.
