How we map the 718

Every session starts with a baseline pull, giving us a real reference for your specific car before any calibration work begins. The ECU is read via Kess3 or CMD bench tooling at Eccles. This is in-person work only, there is no remote flashing platform for Porsche on this site. From that baseline, Samuel Gunnell develops the calibration around your car's actual fuelling, boost and timing data. Once the map is applied, the 718 goes back on the same rollers for verification pulls, so the before-and-after comparison is measured on identical equipment rather than estimated from a spec sheet.

Beyond the Stage 1 map

Stage 1 software is the starting point for most 718s that come through Eccles, but it is not the only work available. A standalone rolling road session, without any remap attached, is available if you simply want a documented figure on your car. Where the PDK transmission is fitted, ask about the driving experience once the engine calibration is complete, we will advise on what is worth pursuing further. Stage 2 is available where the supporting hardware, typically an upgraded intercooler and downpipe, is fitted. We will tell you honestly whether your car's current specification supports it rather than pushing a map onto hardware that is not ready for it.

Stage 1 on the 718 is software only, developed from your car's own baseline pull, with no hardware changes required. It is where the majority of turbocharged 718s sit, and for most road-driven cars it is the right stopping point. above the factory output for your specific variant.
