Every service available on the Scirocco R
Stage 1 calibration on the EA888 is the core service, developed and verified on the dyno rather than applied as a generic file. Stage 2 is available once supporting hardware, typically an upgraded intercooler and intake, is fitted. A DSG remap alongside the engine map is worth doing in the same visit on cars fitted with the dual-clutch gearbox. A standalone rolling road session is available without a remap attached. We do not offer speed limiter removal, launch control coding or a flame tune on the Scirocco R.
Why Scirocco R owners remap
Two kinds of Scirocco R owner come through Eccles. The first drives the car daily and wants sharper throttle response and stronger mid-range pull for the school run and the commute, without changing how the car behaves in traffic. The second has kept the car specifically because it is becoming harder to find, and wants a calibration that respects the platform rather than a generic file borrowed from a newer EA888 application.
Both are solved the same way, because the EA888 in the Scirocco R is a well-understood engine in this workshop, and the calibration work does not need to guess.
Engine and stage options
The Scirocco R runs an earlier-generation EA888 2.0-litre TSI, producing 265 bhp in standard trim and 276 bhp on the R facelift, driving through the front wheels only. Stage 1 remapping works within the standard turbocharger and intake hardware, and the factory calibration on this generation of EA888 leaves a genuine margin above what the ECU permits. before publishing a specific figure. Stage 2 depends on supporting hardware and is developed on a car-by-car basis.
A visit to Eccles
A Scirocco R booked in for Stage 1 starts with a baseline pull on the 4WD Bapro dyno, so we know exactly what your car is producing before anything changes. Samuel Gunnell reads the ECU and develops the calibration from that baseline data, working with a platform this workshop has extensive experience on despite the car no longer being in production. Verification pulls on the same rollers confirm the result before you leave, and if a DSG remap is part of the visit, that work happens in the same session.
