The current Range Rover spans two very different engines under the same body, and the calibration approach differs between them accordingly. What both share is a factory map set conservatively enough to cover every market and fuel grade the car is sold into worldwide, which leaves real headroom for a car running on consistent UK fuel. The figures above come from our own dyno work, not an average lifted from an owners' forum.
What the gain feels like
On either engine, the change a Stage 1 remap makes is felt most in the mid-range, exactly where a car of this size and weight needs the extra shove. Throttle response sharpens, and the pull through the gears when overtaking or merging onto a motorway becomes noticeably stronger without the car feeling any less composed at a cruise. On the V8, the deeper reserve of torque already on offer becomes even more accessible lower in the rev range. On the I6 MHEV, the electrical assistance and the combustion engine's own output work together more decisively once the map is recalibrated.

Stage 1 is available on both engine options. An economy-focused remap is available for owners who want lower running costs on long motorway journeys rather than more power, a genuinely popular request on a car this size. Gearbox recalibration is available for sharper, more decisive shift behaviour, particularly worthwhile alongside an engine remap. Standalone rolling road sessions are available for a baseline pull or a post-modification check.
Dyno proof for this platform
Every current Range Rover is four-wheel drive, and that makes the 4WD Bapro dyno the only accurate way to develop and verify a calibration on this car. A two-wheel-drive rig either forces the vehicle into a driving mode it wasn't built to run in, or leaves an axle unloaded during the pull, and neither produces figures you can rely on.
