Here is what a session at Manchester Dyno Centre looks like in practice.

Your car arrives at HNA Facilities, Plot Zero, James Nasmyth Way, Eccles, Manchester. It goes straight onto the 4-Wheel-Drive Bapro dynamometer. Samuel Gunnell runs a baseline power pass first, this establishes where the car sits before any work begins and gives a fixed reference point for the session.

He reads the ECU using Kess3 or CMD tooling, depending on the platform and the most appropriate read method for that ECU. The calibration is built or modified based on the car's specific hardware, condition, and any modifications declared at booking. The car goes back on the rollers.

Fuelling, boost pressure, ignition timing and knock events are all visible in real time during every run. The calibration is adjusted until the data confirms it is right, not until a fixed time has elapsed, and not until a target figure has been reached on paper. When the session ends, you have documented before-and-after power figures from your own engine. That is the process on every job, not just the ones that cost more.

The facility

The Eccles facility is a dedicated tuning workshop, not a converted unit shared with servicing or bodywork. The 6,000 sq ft site houses the 4WD Bapro dynamometer in its own purpose-built dyno cell.

Full 4WD capability is not standard at most UK facilities. Most rolling roads are 2WD units and cannot load an all-wheel-drive vehicle correctly under power, which means neither the measurement nor the calibration can be properly verified for AWD platforms on those machines. The Bapro handles AWD vehicles, BMW xDrive, Audi Quattro, Volkswagen Golf R, Seat Cupra 4Drive and similar, exactly as it handles rear or front-wheel-drive cars.

Kess3 covers OBD read and write across a broad range of ECUs. CMD extends this to bench and direct ECU access for platforms where OBD alone is not sufficient. On-site parking is available. This is a fixed facility, no mobile visits.
