Car remapping Widnes
Samuel Gunnell is the lead tuner at Manchester Dyno Centre. Over ten years of remapping experience, internationally recognised calibration work, and every job handled personally on a 4-Wheel-Drive Bapro dynamometer in Eccles, Manchester.
The tuner
Samuel Gunnell has been remapping professionally for over ten years. He is the lead tuner at Manchester Dyno Centre, operating out of a 6,000 sq ft facility in Eccles, Manchester, and his work is in demand well beyond the North West. His reputation in performance tuning is internationally recognised, the quality of his calibration files has attracted clients from across Europe, not just the Manchester area.
Every job at Manchester Dyno Centre is handled personally by Samuel. There is no handoff to a junior technician, no generic file loaded remotely and e-mailed back. When your car arrives at the Eccles facility, Samuel runs it on the 4-Wheel-Drive Bapro dynamometer, monitors fuelling, ignition timing and boost pressure live throughout every run, builds and refines the calibration on the rollers, and signs off the work against documented power figures.
For Widnes drivers making the 30 to 35 minute journey, that level of personal involvement is the point. It is not common at any price point.
Why choose Manchester Dyno Centre
In-house 4WD dyno, exclusive to this facility. The 4-Wheel-Drive Bapro dynamometer is not shared with another business or hired by the day. It is at the Eccles facility and used on every job.
Professional-grade hardware, not clone tools. All calibration work uses Kess3 and CMD equipment, the same read-write tooling used by professional tuning houses, not the imitation hardware sold on the grey market.
117Speed, the most decorated remapping business Manchester has to offer. Manchester Dyno Centre operates under the 117Speed name, with a track record built over more than a decade of performance and efficiency tuning.
No published prices. Every job is quoted after discussing the vehicle and the scope of work. No standard rate, no guesswork.
Services
Performance tuning Stage 1 remap delivers more power without touching hardware, calibrated and confirmed on the dyno. Stage 2 remap is built around your specific modifications: intercooler, air filter, exhaust, the map is matched to what is actually fitted. Launch control activation produces a consistent standing start from a repeatable RPM limit. Flame tune applies a controlled overrun calibration with the right character, not just switched on.
Efficiency and transmission Economy remap is calibrated for real-world fuel efficiency, improving response at light throttle and reducing consumption on everyday routes. Gearbox and DSG remap (TCU calibration) aligns shift behaviour, shift points, and torque limiters with the engine map, reducing the mismatch a factory gearbox creates after a performance remap.
Measurement and specialist work Rolling road session produces documented power figures without calibration work, useful as a baseline or an independent check on work done elsewhere. Remote tuning via Bootmod3 (BM3) and MHD is available for BMW and Mini owners who cannot attend in person.
