The session, how it works
Here is what a session at Manchester Dyno Centre looks like in practice. Your car arrives at the facility on James Nasmyth Way, Eccles, Manchester. It goes straight onto the 4-Wheel-Drive Bapro dynamometer. Samuel Gunnell runs a baseline power pass first, this establishes exactly where the car sits before any work begins. That baseline matters because it is what the final result is measured against.
Samuel then reads the ECU using Kess3 or CMD hardware, depending on the vehicle and whether an OBD read is appropriate or whether the ECU needs to come off the car for a bench read. He builds or modifies the calibration, and puts the car back on the rollers. Fuelling, boost pressure, ignition timing and knock events are all visible in real time on every run. If any parameter is not where it should be, the calibration is adjusted and the car goes back on the dyno. This continues until the data confirms the map is right.
You leave with documented before-and-after figures. That is the process on every job, not just the ones that cost more.
The facility
Manchester Dyno Centre operates from a 6,000 sq ft workshop at HNA Facilities, Plot Zero, James Nasmyth Way, Eccles, Manchester M30 0SF.
The dyno cell houses a 4-Wheel-Drive Bapro dynamometer. Full 4WD capability is not standard across UK facilities, the majority of rolling roads are 2WD only and cannot load an all-wheel-drive platform correctly. The Bapro handles AWD vehicles properly, which matters for accurate data on cars like the Golf R, Audi Quattro models, Ford Focus RS, and any platform that distributes power to all four wheels.
All ECU and TCU reads and writes use Kess3 and CMD hardware, OBD port access and bench or direct ECU read-write across a wide range of platforms. On-site parking is available. This is a fixed facility only, there are no mobile visits.
Services
ECU calibration, petrol and diesel, Stage 1 (software only, no hardware changes) and Stage 2 (matched to fitted hardware: intercooler, intake, exhaust). Both developed and verified on the dyno.
TCU calibration, DSG and traditional gearbox remaps. Shift points and behaviour mapped to the engine calibration so the two systems work together.

Remote platform tuning, Bootmod3 (BM3) and MHD for BMW and Mini. Note: Stage 2 requires supporting hardware to be fitted before the session.
