Ford Ranger remap
Working pickup, weekend tow vehicle, or both. Whichever this is, it starts with a calibration built around how your Ranger is actually used. Our 4WD Bapro dyno sees Rangers doing every version of that job, from a fleet truck that never sees a field to a 4x4 that spends its weekends off-road. Call 0161 302 5117.
Every service available on the Ranger
Stage 1 calibration is available across the 2.0 EcoBlue range, software only, no hardware changes required. Where the goal is fuel spend rather than outright pace, an economy remap adjusts the fuelling and boost strategy for lower consumption on the motorway miles that make up most of a working Ranger's week. Gearbox recalibration is available alongside the engine map on automatic models, sharpening shift points and reducing hunting under load. Standalone rolling road sessions are available for a baseline pull or a post-modification check. Speed limiter removal is available where the vehicle is used commercially.
Why Ranger owners remap
Two kinds of Ranger regularly come through Eccles. The first belongs to a trade operator running the truck daily, loaded, towing a trailer more weeks than not. For that owner, the number that matters most is torque low in the rev range, the difference between the engine straining on a loaded motorway incline and pulling through it without a downshift. The second belongs to an owner who bought the Ranger for the lifestyle it supports: towing a caravan, running to the coast with bikes on the back, the occasional green lane. Both owners want more low-end pull, and both benefit from an economy remap on top of it, because a diesel that isn't working as hard to make the same power usually burns less fuel doing it.
Neither is a lesser job than a performance car on this site. The 2.0 EcoBlue is a well-proven diesel with a conservative factory map, and there's real headroom in it whichever kind of owner is asking for it.
Engine and stage options
The Ranger's 2.0 EcoBlue diesel produces between 170 and 213 bhp depending on single-turbo or bi-turbo specification. Both versions respond well to Stage 1 calibration on software alone, with the fuelling and boost strategy recalibrated for the fuel and conditions the truck actually runs in day to day rather than a global-market average. Stage 2 is possible on the bi-turbo where supporting hardware, such as a freer-flowing exhaust, is fitted, though for most working Rangers the gain doesn't justify the hardware cost, and we'll say so honestly rather than sell it regardless.
A visit to Eccles
A Ranger session starts the same way every session does here: a baseline pull on the 4WD Bapro dyno so we know exactly what your truck is producing before anything changes. From there the calibration is developed against your specific engine data, not loaded from a generic file built for a different market. Once the map is applied, we run verification pulls back to back on the same rollers to confirm the figures hold and the engine is behaving as expected under load. For a 4x4 Ranger, running the session on a 4WD rig means the drivetrain is loaded the way it would be on the road, not through a single driven axle.
