Ford Transit Custom remap
Fleet van doing serious weekly mileage, or an owner-driver who wants it to pull harder when loaded. Whichever this is, it starts with the right calibration for how the van actually gets used. Call 0161 302 5117.
Every service available on the Transit Custom
An economy remap adjusts fuelling curves, injection timing and boost pressure for lower consumption across motorway miles, the single biggest cost line for most Transit Custom operators. Stage 1 performance calibration is available for owners who want stronger pull under load rather than fuel savings, and the two aren't mutually exclusive on the EcoBlue diesel: we can build a map that favours efficiency at light throttle while still giving you more torque when you need it. Speed limiter removal is available as a standalone service or alongside either remap. Gearbox recalibration is available on automatic models for sharper, more decisive shifts under load. Standalone rolling road sessions are available for a baseline pull or a fault-diagnosis run.
Why Transit Custom owners remap
Two kinds of Transit Custom come through Eccles regularly. The first belongs to a trade operator running a fleet, where the numbers that matter are miles per gallon and a motorway speed limiter that costs time on every long run. For that owner, an economy calibration paired with speed limiter removal is usually the whole conversation. The second belongs to an owner-driver who wants the van to pull harder fully loaded and stop feeling short of breath on a motorway incline with a full load of tools and stock in the back. That owner is usually after Stage 1.
Both are solved on the same visit if needed, because an economy remap and a Stage 1 performance calibration aren't opposites on this engine, they're two different priorities set against the same conservative factory map. A van isn't a lesser calibration job here, it's a different set of priorities worked through on the same equipment as the performance cars that share the workshop.
Engine and stage options
The Transit Custom's 2.0 EcoBlue diesel spans 105 to 170 bhp across trims. Every variant responds to a software-only Stage 1 or economy remap, with the specific approach built around your engine's factory output and current condition rather than a single map applied across the whole range. There's no Stage 2 hardware pathway on the Transit Custom that we'd recommend as standard; for a working van, the software calibration is where the real, repeatable gain sits.
A visit to Eccles
A Transit Custom session starts with a baseline pull on the 4WD Bapro dyno, so we have a real, measured figure for what your van produces before anything changes. From there we develop the calibration around what you've told us you want, whether that's economy, pace, or both, and apply it. Verification pulls follow on the same rollers, confirming the figures are what we said they'd be before the van goes back to work. Speed limiter removal, where requested, is carried out in the same visit. Most sessions are done within a working day, which matters for an operator who can't afford the van to be off the road any longer than that.
