Car remapping Clitheroe
Confirmed power figures. Before and after, on the rollers, on the same day. Dyno-verified remapping at the Eccles, Manchester facility.
What you leave with
The question worth asking before you book a remap is not what the service costs, it is what you leave with. At Manchester Dyno Centre, you leave with a confirmed power figure. Your car goes onto a 4-Wheel-Drive Bapro dynamometer at the Eccles, Manchester facility, and the calibration is developed and verified against real measured output. Before and after, on the same rollers, on the same day.
A generic remap gives you an estimate based on what a car like yours typically makes. A dyno-verified map gives you the actual number for your engine. The Bapro loads the car under real conditions throughout every run. Samuel Gunnell monitors fuelling, boost pressure, ignition timing and knock events live, and refines the calibration on the rollers until the data confirms it is right. The session ends when the numbers are correct.
That printout, the before-and-after graph with your car's figures on it, is the evidence that the work has been done properly. Not a badge, not a certificate. Measured output.
Vehicles that benefit most
Certain platforms respond particularly well to dyno-verified calibration work. BMW engines, B58, N55, N57 and S55, respond to precise fuelling and boost work in a way that generic files do not capture. VW Golf GTI, GTD and Golf R, Audi with Quattro all-wheel drive, Ford Fiesta ST, Focus ST, Transit and Ranger, Seat Cupra, Skoda Octavia vRS, Vauxhall Astra VXR, Mercedes, these are all platforms regularly through the facility.
Petrol and diesel are both covered. And the 4WD Bapro matters specifically for all-wheel-drive vehicles: a 2WD rolling road cannot load an AWD car correctly, which means the tuner is working blind on one axle. The Bapro handles it properly.
Services
- Stage 1 remap More power without touching hardware. Calibration developed and verified on the dyno for your specific engine.
- Stage 2 remap Matched to your actual modifications. Built around the intercooler, air filter and exhaust you have already fitted, not a generic Stage 2 estimate.
- Economy remap Lower fuel costs on the same journeys. Calibration optimised for efficiency at light throttle without compromising reliability.
- DSG and gearbox remap Shifts that match the engine map. TCU calibration developed alongside the engine calibration.
- Rolling road session Know exactly where you stand. Documented power figures before any tuning work, or as a verification run after modifications.
- Launch control A consistent standing start. Coded and activated on the dyno.
- Flame, pops and bangs tune The overrun note done properly, for enthusiast use.
-
Remote platform tuning Via Bootmod3 (BM3) and MHD for BMW and Mini platforms.
- Speed limiter removal For vans and commercial vehicles.
Why a dyno-verified map is not the same as a cheaper remap
A cheaper remap is a file for an average car. It has been built around an expected set of parameters for your engine type and loaded without any measurement of what your specific car is actually doing. That file may work. It may also be optimised for an engine in better condition than yours, or one with slightly different airflow characteristics, or a different exhaust backpressure.
A calibration built and tested on your engine, with live data throughout and a confirmed output figure at the end, is not a like-for-like comparison. You are paying for the measurement as much as the map.
