Rolling road remap near Colne
A session at Manchester Dyno Centre takes your car from baseline to confirmed output, on a 4WD Bapro dynamometer in Eccles, Manchester.
The session, how it works
Here is what a session at Manchester Dyno Centre looks like in practice. Your car arrives at the facility on James Nasmyth Way, Eccles, Manchester. It goes straight onto the 4-Wheel-Drive Bapro dynamometer. Samuel Gunnell runs a baseline power pass to establish where the car sits before any work begins. He reads the ECU, either via the OBD port using Kess3, or direct from the bench with the ECU physically removed using CMD for platforms that require it.
He builds or modifies the calibration and puts the car back on the rollers. Fuelling, boost pressure, ignition timing and knock events are visible in real time throughout every run. The calibration is adjusted until the data confirms it is right. That may take one revision or several, the session ends when the numbers are correct, not when a clock runs out.
You leave with documented before-and-after figures. That is the process on every job, not just the ones that cost more.
The facility
Manchester Dyno Centre operates from a 6,000 sq ft workshop at HNA Facilities, Plot Zero, James Nasmyth Way, Eccles, Manchester M30 0SF.
The 4-Wheel-Drive Bapro dynamometer is in-house and exclusive to this facility, not shared with another workshop. Full 4WD capability is not standard at most UK tuning operations; the majority run 2WD rolling roads that cannot correctly load an all-wheel-drive car under power. The Bapro handles AWD platforms properly.
Hardware is Kess3 and CMD. Kess3 covers OBD-port read-write across a broad range of modern ECUs. CMD adds bench tuning capability, the ECU is physically removed and connected directly for platforms that require it or where a more thorough read-write is needed. Both are professional-grade tools. This is a fixed facility. Colne drivers travel to Eccles. On-site parking is available.

ECU calibration, Stage 1 Software-only remap, petrol and diesel. No hardware modifications required. Power and torque output developed and confirmed on the Bapro.
-
ECU calibration, Stage 2 Requires intercooler, air filter and exhaust already fitted. Calibration built to match your specific modifications, not a generic Stage 2 baseline.

Colne drivers at the facility
Colne sits at the eastern edge of Lancashire, with a solid population of modified and performance vehicles working through the Pendle and Ribble Valley roads. Drivers from Colne travelling to the Eccles facility for remapping work are typically looking for equipment and expertise that is not available locally, a proper dyno cell, professional hardware, and a tuner who builds maps against real measured data. The 33-mile journey takes around 50 minutes on a straightforward drive.
