This page covers the M-badged X5 M and X6 M specifically, built around the S63 twin-turbo V8 and distinct from BMW's standard diesel and petrol X5 range. Exact factory output depends on generation: the F85/F86 cars (2015 to 2019) produce 575 bhp standard, 617 bhp on the Competition from 2018, while the current F95/F96 generation (2020 onward) produces 600 bhp standard, 625 bhp on the Competition. We confirm which version you have before quoting a specific figure. Mixing up an M-badged car with the standard range is an easy mistake to make from a spec sheet alone, and it is one we rule out before any calibration work starts.
What the gain feels like
The S63 already produces enormous torque from the factory in this application, so the calibration work is less about transforming the car's character and more about sharpening the delivery: quicker throttle response, a broader usable power band and less of a lag between input and reaction. In a vehicle this size and weight, that responsiveness is what owners actually notice day to day, more than the peak figure on a printout.
Every service available on the X5 M / X6 M
Stage 1 is available on both models via Bootmod3 or MHD, or in person at Eccles. Stage 2 is available where supporting hardware is fitted, and we will advise honestly on whether it suits your car. An economy remap is available for owners who cover significant mileage in either vehicle. We remap the automatic gearbox alongside the engine, launch control is codeable and adjustable, and a standalone rolling road session is available without a full remap.
Dyno proof for this platform
M xDrive is standard on both the X5 M and X6 M, and a vehicle sending this much power through all four wheels needs testing on equipment built for it. A two-roller dyno either forces a non-standard operating mode or leaves an axle disconnected. Our 4WD Bapro dynamometer loads all four wheels simultaneously, producing the repeatable, documented figures in the table above rather than an estimate.
