The session, how it works

Here is what a session at Manchester Dyno Centre looks like in practice.

Your car arrives at the facility on James Nasmyth Way, Eccles, Manchester. It goes straight onto the 4-Wheel-Drive Bapro dynamometer. Samuel Gunnell runs a baseline power pass to establish where the car sits before any work begins, these figures are recorded and form the “before” side of the documented result.

Samuel reads the ECU using Kess3 or CMD hardware depending on the platform. He builds or modifies the calibration and puts the car back on the rollers. Fuelling, boost pressure, ignition timing and knock events are all visible in real time throughout every run. The calibration is adjusted on the rollers, not from a library file applied off-site, until the data confirms it is right for your specific engine.

The session ends when the numbers say it is done. You leave with documented before-and-after power figures showing the measured gain on your car, not a projected gain based on what similar vehicles typically achieve.

The facility

Manchester Dyno Centre operates from a 6,000 sq ft workshop at HNA Facilities, Plot Zero, James Nasmyth Way, Eccles, Manchester M30 0SF. The in-house 4-Wheel-Drive Bapro dynamometer is a key distinction: full 4WD capability is not standard at most UK remapping facilities, which means AWD platforms such as BMW xDrive, Audi Quattro and Golf R can be properly loaded rather than front-axle-only tested.

Hardware is Kess3 and CMD, professional-grade tooling that covers OBD-port read-write and bench tuning (ECU physically removed and read directly). Both methods are available depending on the platform and the work required. On-site parking is available. This is a fixed facility only, Atherton customers travel to Eccles.

At Manchester Dyno Centre, AWD vehicles including BMW xDrive, Audi Quattro, Golf R and Cupra platforms are all handled correctly.
