Car remapping near Farnworth
Every map at Manchester Dyno Centre is developed and confirmed on an in-house 4-Wheel-Drive Bapro dynamometer at the Eccles facility. That is not how most remapping in the area works.
Dyno proof
There is no shortage of remapping services advertising near Farnworth. Most of them plug a tool into the OBD port and write a calibration file that was built for a car like yours, not your car. The result is an estimate of what you might gain, based on what that model and engine combination typically responds to.
Manchester Dyno Centre works from measurement. Every map is developed on a 4-Wheel-Drive Bapro dynamometer at the Eccles facility. The Bapro measures fuelling, boost pressure, ignition timing and knock events in real time throughout every power run. Samuel Gunnell adjusts the calibration on the rollers until the data confirms it is right, not until a fixed time has elapsed, not until a generic target figure is reached on a spreadsheet.
Before you leave, you have documented before-and-after power figures from your own engine. The baseline is measured before any work begins. The final figure is measured after the calibration is confirmed. That is not a premium option reserved for certain booking tiers, it is how every job here is done, regardless of what car comes in or what service is booked.
The facility
Manchester Dyno Centre operates from HNA Facilities, Plot Zero, James Nasmyth Way, Eccles, Manchester M30 0SF. The workshop runs to 6,000 sq ft and houses the 4WD Bapro dynamometer in its own purpose-built dyno cell, not on a shared floor alongside servicing bays.
This is a fixed facility. Customers travel here, there are no mobile visits or on-site callouts. From Farnworth, it's a straightforward drive into Worsley and on to Eccles, approximately 20 to 25 minutes depending on traffic. On-site parking is available at the facility.
The equipment used for ECU read and write is Kess3 and CMD, professional-grade tooling covering OBD access and direct bench-level ECU work for a wide range of platforms. Not clone hardware.
Services
- Stage 1 remap software-only calibration across petrol and diesel engines. No hardware changes required. Results in improved power, torque and throttle response, confirmed on the rollers.
- Stage 2 remap calibration built around fitted hardware: intercooler, induction kit, exhaust. Requires supporting modifications to be in place before the session. The map is developed for your specific combination.
- Economy remap calibration adjusted for fuel efficiency on standard driving cycles. Useful for high-mileage drivers and commercial operators looking to reduce running costs without a performance focus.
- Gearbox and DSG remap shift mapping and clamping pressure updated to match the engine calibration. Prevents the transmission from acting as a limiter once the engine has been remapped.
- Rolling road session power run with before-and-after figures, without a remap. Used to establish a baseline or verify the output of existing or recently fitted modifications.
- Launch control coded and activated for compatible platforms.
- Speed limiter removal available for vans and commercial vehicles.
- Flame tune overrun calibration for appropriate platforms. Discuss eligibility when booking.
- Remote tuning via Bootmod3 (BM3) and MHD for BMW and Mini platforms where calibration can be delivered and applied remotely.
